Mexico

Mexico has been a prime destination spot for decades owing to its natural beauty, rich cultural legacy and affordability. A varied topography, which includes mountains, deserts, beaches and dense jungles, is one of the lures that attracts tourists from all over the globe.

Mexico has the advantage of having two long stretches of coastline that border both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The beaches on the Pacific side wash ashore along the tourist meccas of Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. These locations benefit from the cool breezes that blow off of the Pacific, as well as lush vegetation that grows along the beach fronts. The Caribbean side is home to the popular resorts of Cancun and Cozumel and the beaches here feature fine, white sand, crystal blue waters and temperate weather.

Mexico City, which is in the center of the country, is a booming metropolis that is the entry point for many visitors to the country. The museums here house some of the most important artifacts from this country's rich Mayan past. The pyramids of Teotihuacan, right outside of Mexico City, are one of the richest archaeological treasures in all of North America.

The delicious local delicacies, including seafood, makes Mexico a perennial favorite with travelers. Learn more about the varied Mexican Cuisine.
